- Photo to the right: This is Dr. Bill Streever (Biologist) Firewalking. Bill is the Chair of the North Slope Science Initiative's Science Technical Advisory Panel in Alaska, and a New York Times Best Sellers author. Photo shows Dr. Streever walking across red hot coals at one of Claudia's "Ignite your Spirit" Firewalks (at a recorded temperature of 1,200 degrees F). Dr, Streever did the Firewalk as research for his book "HEAT" which came out in 2013. Dr. Streever was so moved by the experience that he put a photo of firewalking on the cover of his book. This photo was taken by Chris Woodcox.

This depends on whose firewalk event you are attending. Claudia Weber ONLY does "Authentic" Firewalk events and if you ask anyone who has actually attended or participated in any of her "Ignite your Spirit" firewalks, they will tell you that her firewalks are 100% REAL!
There are also ALL over 4000 years worth of past firewalkers through the generations, who have participated in authentic firewalks, and occationaly gotten "Kissed" by the fire. "Kissed" means that they received a couple little clear blisters on the bottom of their feet after firewalking. They are painless and go away in less than 48 hours. Try telling those people that the firewalk wasn't real, and you'll get an earful from them. :)
BEWARE of those Firewalk Instructors out there who are less experienced or worst of all, who are greedy for money and do firewalk events with hundreds, EVEN thousands of people in one night! People get BURNED! There is NO empowerment or spirituality from being traumatized. These are NOT considered authentic firewalks in the eyes of the firewalking communities and tribes. They are dangerous and risky.
Being "Kissed" by a firewalking however, is considered a badge of honor by many cultures and tribes, letting the firewalker and everyone else know by way of proof, that those coals were indeed HOT and you just WALKED ACROSS them!!
Claudia limits the number of participants in her "Ignite your Spirit" Authentic Firewalks. She personally motivates and coaches each and every person across the fire herself, to greatly inspire them.
To date, not a single person has been burned at any of Claudia's firewalking events. On occation some firewalkers have received a few "fire kisses", and afterwards the few that have been "kissed" by the fire, admitted that they could recalled exactly when and why they lost their focus, causing them to get kissed. This is another reason Claudia will not allow any camera flashes or distractions to be present during her firewalk events. She strives to keep her participants focused and getting the outcome they desire.
Now some firewalk instructors will try to reduce the dangers as much as possible (but keep in mind that these are STILL glowing red hot coals), by laying down wet/damp sod on the ground, then building a fire on it, using wood that will burn quickly and create coals quickly. This reduces the temperature a bit and makes it much safer to walk on. Some firewalk instructors sprinkles red coals on top of a strip of damp sod, getting the coals from a single big fire (Usually located nearby). To the Native Americans, this is NOT considered an "Authentic" Firewalk, even in the slightest.degree.
What most Certified firewalk instructors will tell you, is that they are only laying down the sod to protect the surface from damage, and in some cases, that is actually true. However, it does reduce the temperature of the heat. taking away from it's authenticty.
But either way..those coals are RED & HOT! And enough people have been "Kissed" or acutally burned to prove that it is absolutely REAL!
How does Claudia perform the Native American Fire Ceremony?
Each of us bring something to burn that we would like to rid the emotions associated with our past (on the Full Moon) or a prayer request of something new (during the New Moon), that will burn, turn to smoke and release into the ethers.
This allows the past energy to move along to its highest spiritual progression path and the new prayer request to move along to its highest spiritual progression path. We may bring pictures, drawings, or intentions written on a piece of paper for the past or the newness.
For the past, after we have burned and released the emotions associated with it, then we have something prepared that is written down on a clean sheet of paper. This would be something new that we would like to call forth from God. For the newness, the prayer request is then burned and released into the ethers thereby replacing the past emotions with new ones.
We form a circle around the fire and one by one we call in support from Divine Sources that give us peace. E.g. - God, Jesus, Creator, the Blessed Virgin Mother, Spirit, the Universe, the Archangels, the Saints that we may feel closest to, Guardian Angels, etc. We start with a prayer, and end with a prayer that is coupled with thanksgiving that our prayers and intentions have already been answered.
Keep in mind, no one is obligated to speak during a Fire Ceremony. Anyone can participate without stating what they are releasing or calling forth.
After we have called in our Divine Source we place into the fire our pictures, drawings and intended release of the emotions associated with the past. Once these things have burned to smoke and ash, we then place into the fire what we have written on clean sheet of paper. This would be what we desire to replace those old energies with and call in new.
The things we address from our past or call into our future can be shared with the group or kept to ourselves as we go through the Fire Ceremony.
A little history of Firewalking
Firewalking's beginnings date back further than the oldest recorded Firewalk in India, which was 4000 years ago, where two Brahmin priests were competing to see who could walk on fire the furthest. One managed to do so, and his feat was written down in the historical records at that time.
Many countries have recorded histories of walking on fire. Peggy Dylan (Co-Founder of the Western Firewalking movement, and Claudia Weber's Firewalking teacher & mentor) informed Claudia that Africa has a really long history of walking and dancing on fire. The African-born Hindus walk on fire regularly as part of their religious festivals, and the !Kung Bushmen of the Kilahari Desert have firewalked since their tribal beginnings.
The !Kung use fire in their powerful healing ceremonies to this very day. Richard Katz, a Harvard psychologist reports that the !Kung use the fire to heat up their energy which they call "n/um".
Dancers will go in the fire, walk in it, put their hands in it, pick up the glowing red hot coals and rub them all over their hands and body. The !Kung say that when the n/um (or energy) in the body is boiling and as hot as the fire, they will not burn.
As the n/um intensifies in the healers, they experience an enhanced consciousness called "!kia", and when the bushmen reach this consciousness and are in this state, this is when they heal all those at the dance. Many medical miracles & self healings have been recorded and taken place during these firewalks.
In the United States, in the 17th Century, a Jesuit priest named Father Le Jeune (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Le_Jeune) writes to his superior, telling of a healing firewalk he witnessed among native North American Indians.
Some 30 years later, it's documented that Father Marquette reported similar firewalks among the Ottawa Indians, and Jonathan Carver writes in his 1802 book of travels in North America that one of the most astounding sights he saw, was the parade of warriors who "walked naked through fire...with apparent immunity".
After years of deep research, Peggy Dylan has found evidence of other North American Tribes that were recorded to have shamanic traditions, which included fire handling. Ms. Dylan reported to me that the Fox, Menominee, Kere, Blackfeet, and particularly the Zuni were fire handlers and firewalkers. The Zuni Tribe in particular, had... and some claim to still have, a "great fire fraternity". These tribes were witnessed to have dealt with fire in incredible ways. The Kahunas, or native priests of the Hawaiian Islands, had powerful practices of lava walking.
According to Gary R. Varner, who writes, "Folklore, History & Study of Myth, he is quoted as saying, "The shaman in Dakota society began their duties at an early age. It was believed that if they disobeyed their devine orders the Thunder Beings would punish or kill them. The shaman had to continously exhibit their power to keep the respect and to hold on to their office. This was done through periodic and competitive "magic" exhibits before the whole village. These exhibitions varied in content with firewalking practiced by the Arapaho and Cheyenne, burning com husks and boiling water handled by the Pawnee and materialization of animals performed by the Crow, Mandan and Hidatsa.
Claudia happens to know of three Northern California tribes that get together every year and have a private joint Firewalking event. They have a public Pow Wow on Saturday, rest and recover on Sunday and then the three tribes come together in strict secrecy and privacy on Monday for their very authentic tribal Firewalk.
In these modern times...Claudia feels that the reasons for Firewalking haven't changed all that much from the past. People now... are struggling to move their minds & spirits past the commercialism that bombards and has hypnotized them into their negative states of mind and thinking.
People are starting to become aware of the power of their mind, but they don't know how to move themselves out of their negative thinking routines.
A lot of Claudia's past firewalking participants have stated to her, that they knew they needed to make a real and positive change within, but also knew that it would take something extremely powerful to jar them out of their negative belief patterns and into an awakening, telling Claudia that when they heard about Firewalking, they realized that might just be the ticket they were looking for...and it was!
Another reason for modern firewalking, is that many people are starting to understand that the body follows the mind, which is why some medical doctors are now stating that "when the mind is at dis-ease, it creates disease" in the physical body. When a person walks bare foot over red hot coals, they start to wonder what else they might be capable of doing or achieving, that they were told they could not, or believed once that they couldn't.

Group and Business "Fire Walking" events:

During Claudia’s Weber's “Ignite Your Spirit” Empowerment Seminars and Authentic Firewalks, your staff, employees, management team will learn what it feels like to experience how to get themselves to take positive actions, and move through their fears, both individually and as a team.
They will understand how to be so totally focused, centered and strong, that they literally feel like they can accomplish anything.
Our minds are the NEW frontier!
Firewalking is absolutely the most powerful & inexpensive tool used today by major corporations who want to take their team's performance to the top level.
There are less than a handful of Certified Firewalk instructors in the U.S. who are experienced enough and regularly do firewalks of this magnitude, and are capable of putting on such events for corporations and businesses.
Claudia Weber is one of those instructors!
Here are some companies who have done firewalking for their management teams abroad, by various instructors, for their leaders and employees: Microsoft, Coca Cola, IBM, Re/Max Real Estate, J.W. Marriot, Merrill Lynch, Pride International, U-Haul International, Sun Microsystems, Walt Disney, Whirlpool, Nissan Motors, Proctor & Gamble, American Express, U.S. Presidents and many more. It's time for these same companies and any businesses that want to take their employees to the very TOP, to inspire their teams right here in the United States with firewalking. :)
Firewalking is an amazing experience and a unique and powerful tool to advance your team's belief in themselves and what they are really capable of achieving. Invest in your team's belief in themselves to increase the success of what they can do for your business!
Successful people must develop a variety of personal and professional skills to succeed, their thoughts and beliefs being absolutely critical to their success.
Companies invest millions of dollars in training their management staff with the skills of time management, leadership, communication and networking, BUT there’s one skill you must develop and nurture in order to succeed in this economic climate, and that is to empower each of your management member's belief in themselves, and what they believe they can achieve!
When an individual believes in themselves, everything flows. “Ignite your Spirit’s” Empowering Seminars and Authentic Firewalks are designed to empower your staff, to sustain profitability and maximize your staff's unlimited potential.
Firewalking is not only a metaphor for the barriers you may want to overcome, it’s also a great symbol for the success a person can manifest, when they “believe” they can achieve.
The Key to success in a highly competitive and ever changing market place, is your team's belief in themselves and their ability to adapt and stay focused.
When a business invests in the individual members of their management team's belief in themselves, they are then capable of achieving world class performance and unstoppable momentum.
